CounterCulture/StreetArt

While studying abroad in London, summer of 2008 I took a photography class that took a tour of the underground culture of street art and other modern art. That is where I first learned about Banksy and experienced his graffiti and other media forms of culture jamming. This semester in political economy we have discussed how the media is owned, controlled, and its pervasiveness.

I wanted to not just do a project about culture jamming, I wanted to jam culture. Walking to class this semester I travel through the pensacola tunnel, nighttime robbery hotspot, and look at the newest graffiti. Each time there is something on the walls in a couple of days it will be primed and painted the same creamy eggshell all over again.

Lacking creativity and inspiration to add to the graffiti I have created this blog to showcase some artist's whose work exemplifies the spirit of culture jamming.
